Conor Benn has broken his silence after being slapped by Chris Eubank Jr during their pre-fight press conference - with an explanation for the presence of the egg now revealed.
Eubank Jr viciously slapped Benn across the face with an egg during a face-off towards the end of their press conference on Tuesday evening.
The pair will do battle in the ring on April 26 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, having been originally due to fight in October 2022.

The bout was postponed indefinitely, however, after Benn returned what promoters described as an 'adverse analytical finding for trace amounts of a fertility drug'.
Both fighters had several back-and-forths surrounding the details behind the original postponement, resulting in Benn making an inaudible comment in Eubank Jr's ear which prompted the slap.
Within minutes of the slap, Benn broke his silence on social media.

Taking to Twitter, he wrote: "That's the only shot you'll land on me you f**king p***k. 2 rounds you are finished."

The mystery behind the involvement of an egg has now also been solved.
The WBC absolved Benn of an intentional doping offence after ruling that a 'highly-elevated consumption of eggs' was deemed to be a 'reasonable explanation' for the adverse finding.

Benn, who had already denied intentionally or knowingly ingesting any banned substance, failed two drugs tests in July and September 2022.
He was provisionally charged and suspended from competing in Britain by the UK Anti-Doping Agency (UKAD), but the ban was lifted last year after the UK National Anti-Doping Panel (NADP), an independent tribunal, stated that they were 'not comfortably satisfied' that UKAD had proven its case against the 28-year-old.
Turki Alalshikh subsequently announced in February that the Eubank Jr vs Benn fight had been re-arranged for April 26.
Eubank Jr has now taken to Twitter to confirm, if confirmation were needed, the reason for the egg slap.

He wrote: "Apparently egg contamination was the reason for his two failed drugs tests. So I contaminated him with an egg."
