Arsenal are still interested in Youri Tielemans while focusing on more pressing targets.
Arsenal’s summer transfer window has gotten off to a phenomenal start with Fabio Vieira and Matt Turner already confirmed and Gabriel Jesus likely to follow suit. However, the Gunners are still keeping tabs on one of their earlier targets, Youri Tielemans.
While their interest in the Belgian playmaker has cooled in recent weeks to focus on more demanding targets, Arsenal retains an interest in the 25-year-old.

Tielemans, while greatly admired for his skill set and experience, hasn’t attracted much interest from other clubs despite only having one year remaining on his current contract.
The Belgian has been a mainstay at Leicester since his move from Monaco in 2019.
Since his permanent arrival at the club, he has managed to rack up 120 appearances contributing 18 goals and 18 assists.
While Tielemans would be a welcome addition at the Emirates, it would appear Arsenal are focused on more urgent transfers. They are currently linked with Gabriel Jesus and his Brazilian compatriot Raphinha.

These transfers are more urgent as both players are attracting interest from other clubs.
Arsenal may also want to clear some space before bringing Tielemans in. It has been widely suggested that polarising midfielder Granit Xhaka could be leaving the club this summer.
The Gunners may see themselves in a favourable position in this negotiation.
With seemingly no other clubs interested in the Belgian, Arsenal may be content to wait until the end of the window before making an offer. However, they run the risk of Tielemans becoming a target for another club and losing him all together.

It is clear Arsenal are targeting technical midfielders that have the ability to play across multiple positions in the midfield.
Tielemans is Premier League proven and if he can be secured at a bargain price later in the window, Arsenal would be foolish to miss out on the deal.
Arsenal seems to be moving aggressively this transfer window with speculation running rife about potential incomings.
After narrowly missing out on Champions League football, the Gunners look keen to bolster their ranks so that isn’t the case for this upcoming season.
