Following a very successful loan spell, Matteo Guendouzi’s permanent move will soon be completed to French club Marseille, according to Goal.
Guendouzi shined in Jorge Sampaoli’s Marseille in which he recorded four goals and eight assists and was a driving force for the team in their second place finish. His fine form at club level also caught the eye of French national team manager Didier Deschamps as he forced his way into the national set up and will now have his eyes set on securing a place in the team for the upcoming World Cup.
With the Arsenal rebuild in full swing, Guendouzi looks to be another casualty of the new regime. The French club initially paid £850,000 to take him on loan for the 20/21 season, and as per the details of that deal, there was an option to make the move permanent for €10.5M in which Marseille are exercising.

Guendouzi’s performances have not only made him a fan favourite with his passion and desire endearing him to the Marseille faithful, but they have earned him high praise from his manager.
Sampaoli said to Get French Football News: “He’s a player with very competitive DNA, he also has great energy in the game which allows us to have good progression on the field. He gives rhythm to our game and allows us to be effective. He has no limits, he will continue to grow. He’s a key player for us.”
The 23 year old has long been accused of being temperamental and having attitude problems. His professionalism on and off the pitch had been called into question on numerous occasions which lead to inconsistency in his performances. However, he looks to have put that behaviour behind him and become a central part of a Champions League team and will be looking to continue on this form with his future settled.
