Oleksandr Zinchenko is nearing his permanent move to Arsenal from Manchester City.
An understated component of Manchester City’s success, but his quality didn’t escape the eye of right-back, Kyle Walker.
Speaking to Michael Timbs, Walker was posed the question of who the most technically gifted City players are.

He responded with Zinchenko, Riyad Mahrez and Bernardo Silva.
Being included in this trio speaks volumes of the quality that Zinchenko possesses.
The Manchester City squad is filled with world-class footballers but amongst the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Phil Foden and Jack Grealish, Zinchenko still has the quality to stick out from the left-back position.

This level of quality is sure to raise the floor of the Arsenal squad as Zinchenko provides quality in two different positions.
He has excelled in central midfield for the Ukrainian national team and has been trusted by Pep Guardiola on numerous occasions to be a key player at left-back.
It has been reported that other offers came in for Zinchenko but his relationship with manager Mikel Arteta helped Arsenal land their man.
It would appear during his successful tenure at City, Arteta managed to form and maintain meaningful and lasting relationships.

Arsenal’s earlier signing, Gabriel Jesus, also stated that Arteta was a deciding factor in making the switch over from Manchester.
Arteta has been very vocal about the team needing to raise its quality on a consistent basis to be able to reach its goals.
With such a young squad, inconsistencies were sure to be an issue but with the Premier League raising in quality yearly, those excuses soon won’t provide reprieve for fans who are desperate for success.

Zinchenko would represent the Gunners’ fifth signing of this transfer window and would represent some excellent business. Arsenal are attempting to get back to the Champions League after a five-year absence and adding players the quality of Zinchenko will surely bring them closer to that goal.
