Chelsea are on the verge of completing a deal to sign Brighton and Hove Albion defender Marc Cucurella, with Fabrizio Romano giving the transfer the 'here we go'.
The Blues have been negotiating a deal for the 24-year-old for several days, with it previously taking a turn as the Seagulls showed interest in Levi Colwill.
A bid of over £50 million was submitted on Tuesday evening, with the latest reports stating that Chelsea had not heard back from Brighton regarding a deal.

Rumours emerged early on Wednesday morning that the deal was being held up as Brighton were keen to complete a transfer for Colwill during negotiations, so that Chelsea would not sell him elsewhere.
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel was keen to sign Cucurella this summer, seeing him as a versatile option for the Chelsea squad as he can operate both at wing-back and on the left of a back three.
With Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen departing, while Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri's futures are in doubt, the Blues were in desperate need of players for these positions.

Italian transfer insider Romano has now revealed that the transfer is on the verge of being completed.
He wrote: "Marc Cucurella to Chelsea, here we go! Full agreement in place between Chelsea and Brighton for more than £50m. Levi Colwill on the verge of joining Brighton soon.

"Personal terms already agreed, no way for Man City. Cucurella will become Chelsea new signing, done."
Romano continued to explain that the Spaniard will sign a six-year deal at Stamford Bridge as he closes in on a move.
Furthermore, Jacob Steinberg of The Guardian has reported that the final fee for the defender will be £52.5 million.
Colwill is expected to join the Seagull's on a permanent deal. It remains to be seen as to whether Chelsea will include a buyback clause on any transfer for Colwill, as he is one of the most promising talents in the Blues' squad.

Cucurella will now undergo his Chelsea medical ahead of signing, but it remains to be seen as to whether he could feature on the first game of the season.
Chelsea travel to Everton on Saturday evening but it would most likely be too soon for the Spaniard to feature.
Cucurella has completed a full season with Brighton and fitness will not be an issue, but Tuchel may be unwilling to throw the defender into his team with lack of training.

It remains to be seen as to when an official announcement will be published as Chelsea look to have got their man this summer.
The Blues will be hopeful of securing further additions before the end of the summer transfer window.
