Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella has revealed who is in charge of the club's WhatsApp group chat, and it isn't who you'd expect.
Premier League action returns on Saturday after a nearly two-week long break for the second international break of the season.
For their first game back, Chelsea face current league leaders Liverpool in a tough away clash at Anfield on Sunday afternoon,

And ahead of the fixture, right-back Cucurellla has offered an insight into Chelsea's club WhatsApp group and named the surprise person who leads the chat.
While speaking to Sky Sports as part of the PL unpacked YouTube series, the Spaniard was asked about the group chat and who was in charge,
Cucurella revealed: "Marcus Bettinelli. he needs to put the fines and set everything so I think he leads the group."

Goalkeeper Bettinelli joined Chelsea as a free transfer from London rivals Fulham in July 2021 but has struggled to find a regular place in the squad, with Spanish keeper Robert Sanchez or Serbia's Djordje Petrovic often starting between the posts.
In his three years with the Blues, Bettinelli has made just one appearance for Chelsea's senior squad during the 5–1 FA Cup third round victory over National League side Chesterfield at Stamford Bridge in January 2022.
Therefore, it comes as a surprise that the Englishman leads the team's WhatsApp chat ahead of club captain Reece James or star player Cole Palmer.
Cucurella was also asked if manager Enzo Maresca was included in the group chat and about what messages were typically sent into the group.

He added: "No. Just for the players and for the people who try to help us who put the timings for training and the days off.
"We have another one with the Spanish players where we send stupid things like TikToks and everything."
Over the summer, Cucurella was a key part of the Spanish national team that were victorious over England in the final of Euro 2024, therefore it comes as no surprise that he remains close with the countrymen at his club.

Currently, there are three Spanish players currently signed for Chelsea, Cucurella, Sanchez and youngster Marc Guiu, who joined the London club over the summer.
