Chelsea are ready to pounce on Robert Lewandowski this summer if his move from Bayern Munich to Barcelona falls short, according to reports.
The Blues are in the market for attackers this summer as Thomas Tuchel plans his squad rebuild.
Club-record signing Romelu Lukaku has departed the club on a season-long loan less than a year after arriving for £97.5 million.

The Belgian scored 15 goals in his first season back at Stamford Bridge but was granted a return to Inter Milan this summer.
The Blues have already acted to bring in one attacker this summer, with Raheem Sterling set to join Tuchel’s side.
Chelsea have agreed a fee with Manchester City ahead of the transfer, with Sterling undergoing his medical before flying to join his new teammates in the United States for pre-season.

However, the attacking reinforcements are not set to stop with the England international arriving this summer.
It has been reported that Chelsea are ready to focus on new attacking targets, after they missed out on Leeds United winger Raphinha.
While no names have been mentioned, Tuchel is said to be ‘lukewarm’ on the idea of bringing Cristiano Ronaldo or Neymar to the club this summer.
It was previously reported that the Blues would enter the race for Lewandowski this summer, having been linked to the Poland international.

Now, as revealed by Nick Purewal, Chelsea ‘would jump at the chance’ to sign the Bayern Munich star.
The plans to sign the forward are understood to ‘sit separately’ from other recruitment plans this summer.
However, it appears that Lewandowski is still dreaming of a move to Barcelona this summer, with Chelsea ready to act if a deal falls through.

Lewandowski previously stated that he will not consider other offers due to his desire to join Barcelona.
He said: "No other offers were even considered by me other than that of Barcelona. I want to leave Bayern, that’s clear.
"It's time for a new stage for me. I hope the fans will understand. I would get the chance to take on a new challenge at another club for a few more years. That's my wish."
Barcelona are in a tricky financial situation this summer and could struggle to bring in the star alongside Raphinha this summer.

Therefore, if a deal falls through, Chelsea will look to act on their long-term interest and complete a deal.
However, they could face competition from Paris Saint-Germain as the Lewandowski saga is far from over.
