Chelsea have agreed a fee with Aston Villa for Carney Chukwuemeka, the clubs have confirmed.
The 18-year-old is one of the brightest sparks in world football, having previously been linked with the likes of Barcelona as he entered the final year of his contract at Villa Park.
The Blues have confirmed that the midfielder has been given permission to travel to London to discuss both personal terms and undergo a medical before signign for the club.
Thomas Tuchel was keen to bring in new faces during the summer transfer window, with it unclear as to whether the midfielder will be part of the first team plans, play for the youth sides or depart on loan. “

The signing of Chukwuemeka will no doubt excite Chelsea fans, with the 18-year-old one of the most in demand youngsters in world football.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano, the player will join the Blues for £15 million plus add-ons as he is set to sign a six-year deal at Stamford Bridge.
His medical is scheduled for Wednesday, with the midfielder set to be unveiled as a Blue by the end of the week.

Phil McNulty has reported that the total figure amounts to £20 million for the midfielder.
The Athletic confirm this fee, stating that clubs in Italy and Germany were interested in signing the youngster after Aston Villa failed in an attempt to renew his contract.
The Villains were keen for a substantial fee to allow him to leave, with Chelsea matching their valuation in order to sign the youngster this summer.
Ben Jacobs continues to report that AC Milan had tracked the youngster this window, being put off by his price tag in the final year of his contract.

Barcelona are also thought to have made an enquiry to sign Chukwuemeka, who will join up with the Blues ahead of the Premier League season.
It remains to be seen as to what the future holds for the youngster, who will be hoping to be handed the opportunity to impress Tuchel before a decision is made on his future.
Tuchel is said to have met Chukwuemeka last week to help convince him to join Chelsea in a meeting at Cobham, according to Nizaar Kinsella.
Harvey Vale has already formed a relationship with the new signing, having assisted him in the Euro U19 final for England as they lifted the trophy.

The Blues kick-off their Premier League season on Saturday as they face Everton at Goodison Park.
