Romelu Lukaku was left so overjoyed he was 'reduced to tears' when his Inter Milan move was agreed after Chelsea accepted their loan offer, according to reports.
His return to the San Siro is nearly complete after Inter saw their revised €8 million plus add-ons offer to take Lukaku on loan for the 2022/23 season accepted by the Blues earlier this week.
Lukaku's time back at Stamford Bridge hasn't worked out, fuelled by his unauthorised interview with Sky Italia back in December which sparked the beginning of the end of his relationship with Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel.

"I think I'm in a moment where the boss could play me a little more but I have to respect his decisions, continue to work and wait for my time to come," he said last year in the bombshell interview.
"We're trying to find a middle ground where we can meet, a system which can help the team perform at its best because right now we're in a complicated situation.
"The boss made a choice, I have to keep working and at some point we will talk with Tuchel and see how it's going."

The 2021/22 campaign came to an end and so did Roman Abramovich's ownership, the final permanent signing of the Russian-born's incredibly successful 19-year stint in west London.
It saw the new owners - the consortium led by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital - come in and listen to Tuchel over his stance and it was agreed they would do everything they could to find an agreement to let Lukaku leave.
As negotiations continued and the clubs went back and forth, Lukaku, who will take a pay cut, was working with his lawyer Sebastien Ledure to finalise a deal after parting ways with his management company.
And Lukaku's reaction to the news of the agreement has now been revealed by Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

He was emotional and was 'reduced to tears' when Ledure informed him that a breakthrough had been found.
Lukaku's future in west London is set to end, temporarily, next week when he travels to Italy for his medical ahead of signing his contract to official seal his arrival back in Milan.
Once Lukaku has left, Chelsea can focus on new additions for Tuchel's side, including pursuits for Jules Kounde and Raheem Sterling.
Boehly's restructuring of Chelsea has been announced, with the board being made up of nine individuals which saw Marina Granovskaia's departure confirmed.

He said: "As custodians of Chelsea FC, we now begin executing our long-term vision and plan for the Club, creating an outstanding experience for its passionate, loyal fans, and continuing to challenge for top honours in line with Chelsea FC's decorated history.
"Working together, side-by-side, we are firmly committed to winning, both on and off the pitch. For us, that effort has begun."
Co-controlling owners Behdad Eghbali and José E. Feliciano added: "As the new era of the Boehly-Clearlake ownership begins, we are excited to build a championship organisation and grow Chelsea FC as a global platform.

"We look forward to backing Thomas Tuchel, Emma Hayes and their teams, and will provide proactive, unbending support to make Chelsea’s loyal fans and our partners proud."
