Ruben Loftus-Cheek has revealed his delight over Chelsea’s win against Leicester City, and has praised his teammates Raheem Sterling and Edouard Mendy for their impact.
The 26-year-old started in the 2-1 win against the Foxes on Saturday, his fourth appearance of the season so far.
Despite Conor Gallagher’s red card in the first half, Sterling’s brace was enough to help seal the win against Brendon Rodger’s side.

A Harvey Barnes goal for the visitors was not enough for the visitors as Chelsea claimed their second win of the season.
Having made a mistake for Leeds’ first goal last weekend, Mendy showed an improved performance in between the sticks for Chelsea.
He made a great save at the end of the first half against Leicester, with the Senegalese international denying Timothy Castagne inside the area.
When speaking to the official club website after the match, Loftus-Cheek was full of praise for his side’s goalkeeper.

“He was fantastic,” said the midfielder.
“One mistake doesn’t get him down, he’s ready to go again. That’s what a top player does.
“Ed is a fantastic leader on the pitch and you can always hear his voice behind you, which is great, and obviously his goalkeeping ability is fantastic. He’s a massive plus for the team.”
Having played most of the match with ten men, the result will feel even bigger for Chelsea.

Loftus-Cheek commented: “We dominated the first 20 minutes, and then Con got sent off and it was a very tough game from then on, but we came in at half-time and said we can still win this game.
“We have quality and there are a lot of subs. We didn’t want to use the red card as an excuse to come away with a draw or a loss.”
He is also confident that Sterling will now go on to score many goals for Chelsea since his arrival in the summer, with the winger netting his first competitive goal for the club on Saturday.

A deflected shot for the first and a tidy finish for the second would cap off a successful day for the England international.
Loftus-Cheek added: “Raz is always going to get goals.
“Hopefully now he’s got his first, the floodgates will open. I’m sure he will keep getting on the scoresheet.
“I’m very pleased for him to get his first couple of goals. He was fantastic, and here’s to many more.”
