Kalidou Koulibaly is ready for his first London derby since joining Chelsea as they prepare to host Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
The 31-year-old made his league debut for the Blues last Saturday during the 1-0 win over Everton at Goodison Park which got Thomas Tuchel’s side off to a winning start in 2022-23.
“It was a tough game and my first game in the Premier League,” reflected the Senegal international to the official Chelsea website on his debut.

"It was difficult because I’m not used to the rhythm but I tried my best, and we win the game, and I am so happy to win my first Premier League game. I am looking forward to winning many more games with my team."
Koulibaly will now make his home Chelsea debut when Spurs head to Stamford Bridge this weekend.
Chelsea will be looking to continue their 100 per cent record, as will Antonio Conte’s side who beat Southampton 4-1 in their opening game.

It will be a true test for Chelsea to see where they are really at as they face one of their tougher opponents in the 2022/23 season.
Koulibaly is relishing the London derby, adding: “It’s a big game at home, a London derby and we know it will be a tough game.
“Tottenham are a very good team with a lot of good players, we will work hard to be ready for Sunday to try and win the game.

“We know it’s going to be difficult, but we’ll be ready!”
The central defender has quickly become a fan favourite among supporters which saw a chant be created for him at Goodison Park following his £34 million arrival.
“I was really happy and when I first heard (the song) I couldn’t believe it,” continued Koulibaly.

“My brother sent it to me on my phone and I was surprised. I was really happy and I want to thank them for this new song, I hope it will be sung for a long time!"
Koulibaly is likely to start for the Blues in the backline with his match fitness continuing to improve after joining the Chelsea squad late on their pre-season tour of America.
He will be hoping to get 90 minutes under his belt soon after coming off during the second-half at Everton.
"Koulibaly came late and struggled," responded Tuchel when asked about the defender's fitness.

"Koulibaly came off with just cramp."
