Jorginho would go on to get the last laugh in the encounter, with his side winning after Bukayo Saka missed the crucial penalty.
The Italian decided against his usual penalty technique to slot into the bottom left corner, sending Pickford the wrong way.

Jorginho, who scored the only goal of the game, admitted that he had to think about his penalty technique when facing Pickford after missing his last spot-kick against him in the Euro 2020 final.

"What the keeper may do in that moment, I was thinking about it a lot. It was the right decision. For me it is 75% all in the head. I thought a lot and it went well.”
