The agent of Chelsea midfielder Jorginho, Joao Santos, has offered an update over when they expect to open contract renewal talks.
Jorginho, 30, is out of contract next summer at Chelsea and his future is yet to be decided with Juventus expressing an interest in the midfielder.
Chelsea are interested in Matthijs de Ligt but Jorginho is not currently part of the conversation of being involved in a swap deal.

The midfield positions are stacked at Stamford Bridge - N’Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are all available to Thomas Tuchel alongside Jorginho, as well as Conor Gallagher, Billy Gilmour and Ethan Ampadu who have all returned from their respective loan spells.
Kante and Jorginho are both out of contract next summer, but Tuchel admitted back in April of his plans to resolve their futures this summer to avoid any uncertainty.
Chelsea lost Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen at their end of their contracts and Tuchel doesn’t want a repeat with the midfield duo.

Speaking when the club had sanctions placed on them, the Chelsea head coach said: “With important players, it’s a wish as a coach that we solve this in the summer anyway. That it’s clear where the journey is, what the decision is.
“Then we have the same talks about Toni and Andreas, we just swap the names, we talk about it through winter, then comes January, then the agents talk with these clubs and the brother to the other… it would be nice if we can avoid it.
“But in the moment, it’s a bit difficult. Yes, this should be the target for all of us.”

Jorginho’s agent, Santos, has consistently said his client wants a return to Italy one day, labelling it as a dream, with Napoli, Juventus, AC Milan, AS Roma and Inter Milan all possible destinations.
Santos has now provided an update on Jorginho’s future plans at Stamford Bridge amid renewal talks.
Remaining at Chelsea is a priority and Santos expects talks to take place over a new deal in September.
“Chelsea are the priority,” Santos told TuttoMercatoWeb.

“The contract will expire in 2023, I think we will talk about the renewal from September."
Chelsea are also hoping to renew Reece James and Mason Mount’s deals at the club as co-owner Todd Boehly looks to protect and secure the futures of the Academy graduates.

In-house work is being done to keep hold of the current players, now the attention is being shifted to signings with Raheem Sterling hoped to sign before the Blues jet off to America for pre-season.
