The reason for Everton rejecting Chelsea’s bids and holding up a deal for Anthony Gordon has been revealed.
The Toffees have rejected two bids for the 21-year-old from Chelsea already this summer.
The Blues have now made an offer of £60 million, with an initial £50 million to be paid, with an additional £10 million in instalments.

However, Frank Lampard’s side are still stalling over a deal this summer.
Lampard offered an update on Gordon’s future and admitted it would be ‘naive’ to guarantee the youngster’s future at Goodison Park amid interest from Thomas Tuchel’s sides.
Lampard said: “He’s our player and the latest is the same as what I said after the game against Nottingham Forest – he’s our player and he’s got three years left on his contract.

“We’re aware of the interest of Chelsea as the world is now.
“This situation has to be right for Everton Football Club and for me as the coach of the team so we’re in the same position that we were a few days ago.”
Despite being unable to commit Gordon to Everton, Lampard’s side are holding up a deal and now the reason why has been revealed.
As reported by talkSPORT, Everton are interested in bringing either of two Chelsea players on loan as part of the deal.

The report states that Lampard is interested in both Conor Gallagher and Armando Broja, who spent last season on Premier League loans.
Broja netted six Premier League goals during his time at Southampton, while Gallagher impressed on loan at Crystal Palace.
The midfielder started as Chelsea lost 3-0 to Leeds United, with the midfield looking poor all-round.
Broja, on the other hand, is yet to be handed a start but made two appearances from the bench in the first two games of the season.

However, the Albania international has suffered another setback, picking up another injury.
It remains to be seen as to whether Chelsea would be prepared to let either player leave on loan this summer.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge this summer, which would likely see Broja demoted to the third choice striker.

If the Blues are able to bring in reinforcements, they could allow Broja to depart.
With just a week left of the transfer window, Tuchel’s side will have to act quickly if they are to bring in reinforcements this summer.
