Chelsea have been dealt a blow in their transfer pursuit of Anthony Gordon as Everton boss Frank Lampard reveals ‘he's our player’.
In recent weeks, the Blues have been interested in signing the 21-year-old attacker, who has emerged as one of the Toffees’ best players over the last few months.
Throughout the summer, Chelsea have been looking to reshape their attack for the season ahead, with the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Timo Werner and Callum Hudson-Odoi all leaving either on loan or permanently.

They have already had two bids rejected for Gordon, and his current club are very keen to ensure he stays at Goodison Park.
Lampard recently said: "We have drawn a red line. It is very difficult. I got asked last week.
"Will he be here at the end of the window?"
"It was an impossible question to answer, really. But I am working to try and put a squad together.
“There absolutely has to come a time where we understand what the squad is going to be, especially a player of the level of Anthony.

“I have to know he is going to be here and the good thing is here at the club, myself and everybody involved upstairs has the same kind of thinking.
“I won't say where it (the cut-off point) is, but I think you understand I am getting very close to it.”
Everton travelled to Leeds United on Tuesday night and picked up a point as they drew 1-1 at Elland Road, with Gordon scoring for the second game in a row.
Now, it seems as though Thomas Tuchel's side are set to miss out on their target as Lampard hinted that they have missed the deadline for the player.

After the draw against Leeds, the Blues legend said: “Anthony is too important a player, I think he has showed his worth in the last two games.
"We’ve got two days now to go (until the transfer window shuts) so what good would it do us to do anything with Anthony?
“On a bigger picture than that, he’s our player who we’ve developed and there’s an affiliation with him and the fans and vice versa.

“We’re trying to do something here and we know it’s a process and it will take some time. I think it’s very clear that from where we were last year, where we want to get to is a process.
“Can we trust in that, can we build around the good players that we have and can we add to that?
“That’s where I’m coming from and Anthony clearly, because of the interest there has been in him is because he’s a top player, and that’s why we are so keen to keep him.”
The transfer window is set to shut on Thursday evening, therefore giving Chelsea very little time to conduct their final business of the summer.
