Wesley Fofana has told Leicester City about his wish to join Chelsea this summer and is keen for them to lower their asking price, according to reports.
Over the past few weeks, the 21-year-old has emerged as a transfer target for the Blues after they missed out on the signings of Matthijs de Ligt and Jules Kounde.
Chelsea have been able to acquire Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli, but Thomas Tuchel’s side are still keen to strengthen their defence this summer.

Personal terms have already been agreed between Fofana and the Blues.
With the transfer window set to close at the start of September, the west London side are beginning to run out of time to secure their next signing of the summer.
However, they could be boosted by the player’s ambitions to seal a switch.
According to the Evening Standard, Fofana has told the Foxes that he wishes to move to Chelsea this summer.

Tuchel’s side have already had two bids rejected for the centre-back and they are yet to have made a breakthrough.
The Guardian have also revealed the Frenchman’s ambition, with the Chelsea manager keen to sign one more centre-half in the window.
In addition to this, Nizaar Kinsella has reported that Fofana is trying to get his current side to lower their asking price, as their current valuation would make him the most expensive centre-back in football should Chelsea pay the fee.
The west London outfit could also take their interest in the player ‘to the wire’ as they continue negotiations with the Foxes.

Reports on Monday revealed that they will step up their efforts to sign Fofana, who has impressed during his time at the King Power Stadium.
Should he sign, the defender could be one of four major signings to have made the switch to Stamford Bridge.
He would join Raheem Sterling, Koulibaly and Marc Cucurella as some of Tuchel’s new options for the side, with the trio all starting in the draw against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

The clash in west London was full of controversy, with Chelsea frustrated over the fouls in the buildup to both of Spurs’ goals.
Referee Anthony Taylor gave red cards to both Tuchel and Antonio Conte at the full-time whistle, with the managerial duo now set to miss their respective next fixtures.
Tuchel revealed that despite having the opportunity to speak to Taylor after the game, he opted not to.
He said: “We could, but honestly I have no interest. Things are so clear, things are so so clear, what should happen."
