Chelsea and Edouard Mendy are in talks over a contract extension, with there yet to be an agreement, it has been reported.
The goalkeeper has three years remaining on his current deal at Stamford Bridge, but a renewal is one of the priorities for Chelsea’s new ownership this summer.
Mendy is settled at Chelsea, with his international teammate and friend Kalidou Koulibaly joining the club this summer.

Speaking previously on the signing, Mendy heaped praise on Chelea for recruiting the 31-year-old from Napoli.
The goalkeeper said: "I’ve known Kalidou for a while now. He was the first one who welcomed me in the national team so we were in the same room at first, when I first met him, when I got my first call-up, so the feeling was amazing.
"If you talk about his qualities on the pitch, I think I will let the people and the Chelsea fans see this player and I hope they will enjoy watching him. He's a top player, as everybody knows, but he is a top person and that's why in the dressing room he’s a very good addition.

"He is a guy who likes the responsibility, but also he can joke with everyone, so we need this kind of person.
"And I think everybody's going to be happy with him and what they see.
"Every year we had this - the link with Chelsea and Kalidou in the media - and this year it happens so I am happy!"
With three years left on his contract, the Blues goalkeeper will be hoping to play with his international teammate atr club level until at least 2025.
The Blues are still keen to tie Mendy down for longer, while likely giving him a pay rise.

Simon Johnson of The Athletic reported that talks have been opened over an extension.
There have already been two meetings held with the representatives of Mendy, but the negotiations are said to still be at an early stage.
Mendy is understood to be one of the lowest earners in Chelsea’s squad, despite arguably being the first name on Thomas Tuchel’s team sheet.

He is said to be happy at the club and wants to commit his long-term future to Stamford Bridge but is also hoping for a significant pay-rise.
Furthermore, Darmesh Sheth of Sky Sports stated that Mendy is in talks over a new contract but there is a gap between what he wants and what is currently offered.
It remains to be seen as to whether the Blues will increase their offer for their goalkeeper, with his extension one to keep an eye on.
