Graham Potter has revealed Conor Gallagher was on the verge of being sick during Chelsea’s 0-0 draw against Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium on Wednesday evening.
The 22-year-old was forced off in the 15th minute and replaced by Mateo Kovacic. It appeared Gallagher was injured which would have added to Chelsea’s injury problems, particularly in the midfield.
As Chelsea held on to a fifth consecutive clean sheet and remained unbeaten (seven games) since Potter’s arrival, an update on Gallagher’s condition awaited.

Potter addressed the issue at full-time and revealed it was down to sickness which is why he was brought off, and not because of a knock he was carrying.
"Conor felt ill, like he was going to be sick,” responded the Chelsea head coach, via Liam Twomey, on Gallagher.

"Hopefully it's just a 24 hour thing."
Chelsea will be hoping Gallagher is fit for selection on Saturday for their home Premier League game against Manchester United, who beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 at Old Trafford on Wednesday.

Potter was pleased despite only collecting a point against the Bees and is already switching his focus to the weekend.
He told Amazon Prime: “We are always disappointed when we don’t win. A point is fair. They had chances, we were pushing at the end.
“A really tough game. We pushed and pushed, not easy in the schedule we have, I’m proud of the boys they gave everything.

“It gives you a chance to pick up points. We wanted to be a bit better in the first half but credit to the opponent. We stood up to it quite well, you have to survive your moments. Hard earned point.
“There is no rest, you have to keep moving. Four points (from the last two away games) which is not too bad.
"We wanted to win but we have to credit our opponent, take the point and go again.”
