Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is said to be ‘pushing’ for the signing of Presnel Kimpembe from Paris Saint-Germain this summer, according to reports.
The Blues are looking to sign new defenders ahead of the new season, with Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen joining Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively.
Both Tuchel and Kimpembe have worked together before when the former was boss at the Ligue 1 giants from 2018 to 2020.

The latter has spent the whole of his senior career at the club, coming through their academy before making his first team debut in 2014.
However there has been speculation over his future in the French capital, and a move away from the Parc des Princes could be on the cards this summer.
According to L’Équipe, PSG will not hold the 26-year-old back if a suitable offer for the player was to arrive this summer.

Tuchel would like to reunite with the centre-back at Chelsea, and a departure could be likely given that the French outfit have identified Inter Milan’s Milan Skriniar as a target for the transfer window.
The French international recently met with the new management at PSG in order to discuss his situation at the club but his future is now in the balance after said talks, with sporting advisor Luis Campos ‘not appreciating Kimpembe’s words’.
It is also thought that the player has been disappointed with the fact that the club have not sanctioned his teammates for some of their behaviour off the pitch, as well as being frustrated at the fact that he is only their 13th highest earner despite coming through the club’s academy.
Therefore after eight seasons and 221 appearances in all competitions, his time at PSG could be coming to an end.

Previous reports have revealed that Chelsea star Thiago Silva has been messaging the defender over a potential move this summer, with the Brazilian trying to ‘sell him’ the project at Stamford Bridge.
Should Kimpembe arrive in west London, he is likely to be one of two new defensive signings at the club, with Matthijs de Ligt being heavily linked with a move from Juventus.
Chelsea are thought to be ready to step up in the race for the Dutchman, who has also attracted interest from Bayern Munich.

As the new season approaches the Blues will be ready to welcome their first signing of the summer, with Raheem Sterling set to sign from Manchester City.
