The Chelsea players’s stance on Thomas Tuchel’s sacking has been revealed amid a tense atmosphere at the Cobham training ground.
On Wednesday morning, Chelsea announced that they had parted company with the German head coach after just over a year-and-a-half in charge at the club.

“On behalf of everyone at Chelsea FC, the Club would like to place on record its gratitude to Thomas and his staff for all their efforts during their time with the Club.
"Thomas will rightly have a place in Chelsea’s history after winning the Champions League, the Super Cup and Club World Cup in his time here.
“As the new ownership group reaches 100 days since taking over the Club, and as it continues its hard work to take the club forward, the new owners believe it is the right time to make this transition.
“Chelsea’s coaching staff will take charge of the team for training and the preparation of our upcoming matches as the Club moves swiftly to appoint a new head coach.

“There will be no further comment until a new head coach appointment is made.”
Chelsea will now be looking for a new permanent appointment, with Brighton’s Graham Potter and former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino being potential options.
The atmosphere at Cobham ahead of the decision to part ways with Tuchel has now been revealed, with the Blues winning just three of their first seven games in all competitions.
According to The Telegraph, the atmosphere at the training ground has been ‘tense’, and Tuchel soon lost popularity with some of the players.

Some felt they had been ‘treated unfairly’, particularly when it came to the positions they were being played in and overall team selections.
It is now thought that Chelsea are set to approach Brighton in order to ask for permission to speak to Potter.
Pochettino and former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane are also thought to be potential options for the club.

Before the Blues make the short trip down the road to face Fulham on Saturday, coach Anthony Barry is set to be in charge of training as they prepare to return to Premier League action.
A new manager is hoped to be in place as soon as possible, with this season proving to have more of a hectic schedule than usual.
Chelsea currently sit sixth in the table, but lost their first Champions League match of the season 1-0 against Dinamo Zagreb.
With Potter and Pochettino leading the race for the job, only time will tell who the next Chelsea manager is.
