As reported by Dharmesh Sheth of Sky Sports, the move was in danger of collapsing as Leverkusen wanted an option to buy.
However, with Chelsea’s demands for a straight loan, Bradley Hudson-Odoi convinced the Bundesliga club to take the deal on Chelsea’s terms.
Now, the 21-year-old will spend the season on loan in the Bundesliga and gain valuable first team football.

It remains to be seen as to what the future will hold for the Cobham graduate when he returns next summer.
He will most likely be hoping to be handed a regular spot in Chelsea’s attack, but must first prove himself this season in Germany.
Chelsea have been heavily linked with a move for Everton winger Anthony Gordon.
While he could be seen as a replacement for Hudson-Odoi, it remains to be seen as to whether a deal can be struck.
