WWE forced to cut audio during SmackDown broadcast after Roman Reigns incident with fan

The WWE Universal Champion was heckled by a fan in the crowd.

WWE superstar Roman Reigns was heckled by a fan during the latest SmackDown show, prompting the audio to be cut from the live broadcast.

The WWE Universal Champion appeared on Friday's SmackDown episode, coming face-to-face with Cody Rhodes.

There was clearly tension between the pair as they refused to shake hands during an intense moment.

The show ended as Reigns clicked his fingers and summoned Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso who emerged as back-up for him.

However, the odds were evened when Rhodes was joined by Seth Rollins and Jey Uso.

The show came to a conclusion as the six men had a stare-down.

What comes next is unclear and remains to be seen, and whether Rhodes will end up taking on Reigns for his Universal Champion title.

But what has got people talking is not what happened in the ring, but what happened outside of it after an incident involving a fan at the event at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

As Reigns stood outside the ring with his belt being held aloft behind him as he stared at Rhodes, a female fan in the crowd took it upon herself to heckle the superstar. Check out the clip below.

She said: "Do you need a room full of strangers to acknowledge you, little b**** a**?"

The message to Reigns prompted the broadcasters to cut the audio feed, clearly concerned about the way it was heading and any further expletives.

While the audio was cut, the pictures continued and the fan continued to heckle Reigns, although it is not clear what she said.

To be fair to Reigns, he took it well and with good nature, with the comment bringing a big smile to his face.

It all adds to the drama ahead of WrestleMania XL, with Reigns and Rhodes set to clash at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on the weekend of April 6 and 7.
