Hulk Hogan was 'shaken' after hearing the reception he got during appearance on first WWE Netflix show

Hulk Hogan returned to WWE on the first show on Netflix but his appearance on Raw did not go as planned.

Hulk Hogan was 'shaken' after being on the receiving end of a brutal reception when he made a return to WWE on the first show on Netflix.

The first ever episode of Monday Night Raw on the streaming service emanated from the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, Los Angeles, where 17,000 fans packed inside.

As part of a game-changing $5 billion deal, anyone with a Netflix subscription around the world can tune in to watch WWE's flagship and the debut saw the professional wrestling juggernaut pull out all the stops.

There were appearances from The Rock, John Cena, The Undertaker and rap star Travis Scott, with Hogan also making an entrance on the broadcast.

WWE have just announced a new lucrative multi-year partnership with Hogan's 'Real American Beer brand', which will see them take a minority stake and feature the logo on the ring mat.

Hogan appeared, wearing a vest with the name of his company, alongside former manager Jimmy Hart, to promote the deal and Netflix.

"You, the fans, have been my greatest tag team partner because you guys have stuck with me through thick and thin dudes,” Hogan said.

“You know, I got a new tag-team partner right now. I got Hulk Hogan’s Real American Beer that I’ve teamed up [with].

"And in the past, I’ve had a whole bunch of partners down the line. I’ve had incredible partners like ‘ooh ya’ the Macho Man Randy Savage. I’ve had giant-size partners, like Andre the Giant.

“But the greatest partner the WWE has ever had, is the fact that tonight, we’re making history, and the WWE has tag-teamed up with Netflix, the greatest tag-team partner of all time."

He continued: "I’m thrilled to bring Real American Beer into the ring with WWE. Together, we’re bringing that pride to America, one beer, one match at a time, brother!”

But, much to his surprise, the 71-year-old was loudly booed by the fans in attendance and fans said he looked "uncomfortable" and "shaken" by the reaction he received.

Hogan is one of the most influential wrestlers in history but he was briefly blacklisted and removed in 2015 after an old video emerged of him using the n-word to describe his daughter dating a black man.

His contract was terminated, with WWE saying they were "committed to embracing and celebrating individuals from all backgrounds".

After apologising for his offensive comments, Hogan was reinstated in the WWE Hall of Fame in 2018 and has continued to make sporadic appearances since then.

Hogan is a firm supporter of President-elect Donald Trump and appeared at rallies for his fellow WWE Hall of Famer in his campaign to beat Kamala Harris.

Linda McMahon, wife of WWE founder Vince McMahon, is set to be in Trump's cabinet for a second time - this time serving as Education Secretary after a spell as a 'Small Business Administrator'.
