The document was posted in 2016 and featured direct orders from Vince McMahon.

A leaked document shows what WWE superstars are banned from doing during live events.

The events, sometimes known as 'house shows' are the non-televised WWE run on a regular basis across the globe.

Typically, without the cameras present, performers have much more freedom in terms of the matches they can have and what they can get away with.

But a sheet which went viral on social media suggests that it is not the case and there are a slew of rules in place.

It features the names of former WWE superstars and current producers with the company D-von Dudley and Jamie Noble at the top, with directive from Vince McMahon.

The 77-year-old stepped down from his position running creative but has since returned as executive chairman after a six-month hiatus.

He is known for being extremely particular about the use of certain phrases and the 2016 document stresses that the regulations have been signed off by the long-time head honcho, who normally didn't attend live events.

Former wrestler Michael Hayes was second in command and approval had to be provided by him.

There was a ban in place on superstars "going up on the ropes" during their entrance, as well as referees being involved in the finishes of matches.

Impromptu promos were prohibited and must be signed off by Hayes as well as producers and agents.

The use of weapons such as tables, ladders and chairs also needed the blessing of those highers up - with the same said for heels (bad guys) "taking a walk during their matches".

No low blows were permitted and there was one specific rule in place that only John Cena was allowed to breach. Only he was able to do the "Yea-Boo stuff" - which basically meant playing up to the crowd's polarising reactions.

The document finishes with information on the role referees must play when it comes to injuries.
