There are many Manchester United supporters who would consider Wayne Rooney to be the greatest player in the club’s history.
Rooney did it all with United, winning five Premier League titles, including three in a row, one Champions League, one FA Cup and four League Cups.
Rooney captained United for a few years towards the end of his Red Devils career, winning an FA Cup, EFL Cup and Europa League with the armband.

He is also United’s all-time leading goal scorer, with 253 goals across his 13 year stay with the club.
The Englishman is considered one of the most prolific Premier League attackers ever and is second on the all-time top goal scorers list across the whole league with 208 goals; only Alan Shearer is ahead of him.
However, Wayne is not the only person in his family who is a lethal goal scorer.

Currently playing for United’s academy is Rooney’s 12-year-old son, Kai, who enjoyed an exceptional 2021/22 season.
According to the Daily Star, Kai Rooney scored an incredible 56 goals for United’s under-12s last season, as well as assisting his teammates 28 assists times.
Last season was a remarkable one for Rooney, who can hopefully rise through the academy ranks at United in the years to come.
As well as Wayne's son, there are some other past and present United players who have a family member in the academy.

Last season, the son of former United midfielder Nemanja Matic represented the Red Devils in the academy.
The younger brother of Under-23s attacker Shola Shoretire also plays at academy level for United.
Shola himself is an exciting prospect, and, following an appearance against Crystal Palace in the final game of last season, will hopefully get more first-team opportunities under Erik ten Hag.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s oldest son, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr, also plays for the United academy, having left Juventus when Ronaldo made his sensational return to Old Trafford last summer.
