Richard Arnold was appointed as Manchester United CEO earlier on this year, and has overseen the appointment of Erik ten Hag as manager.
Richard Arnold has orchestrated many changes at the club since he stepped up to the position, and his latest one involves some of the club’s most successful figures.
Arnold has now reportedly created a think-tank consisting of Sir Alex Ferguson, former United CEO David Gill, Bryan Robson and current football director John Murtough, according to Chris Wheeler of the Daily Mail.

This will be the most influence Sir Alex has had at Manchester United since he retired as manager in 2013.
The think-tank is designed to draw on the experience of the former three mentioned, as they will be able to give advice due to their experience on all aspects of the club.
As former CEO, David Gill oversaw one of the club’s most successful ever eras from a commercial side, running the day to day business behind the footballing side of the club.

Sir Alex Ferguson is one of the most successful and arguably the greatest manager of all time, and will be able to provide a managerial angle to Murtough and Arnold with respect to the club.
As a former captain and one of the side’s best ever midfielders, Bryan Robson will be able to provide crucial player-related insight to the pair.
Arnold reportedly recognises the wealth of knowledge they possess and the foolishness of not turning to the trio earlier in the club’s recent history.

The first meeting of the think-tank happened on Tuesday at lunchtime at Carrington, which coincided with the players returning to the training ground after their four match pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia.
Cristiano Ronaldo was also in attendance at Carrington that day as part of his first day back at Manchester United, and although it has been said there was an interaction between the player and Sir Alex amid the player wanting to leave the club, United have allegedly claimed it was purely coincidental.
The group of five are understood to be meeting on a regular basis and will no doubt be discussing the current state of the club, the short term, medium term and long term goals of the club in every aspect and what the future should look like for Manchester United.

At Manchester United, beyond the managerial changes and those to the backroom staff, there have also been a lot of changes behind the scenes with many more expected to come as time goes on.
Erik ten Hag will oversee two final pre-season fixtures this weekend against Atletico Madrid and Rayo Vallecano, after the club have played five against Liverpool, Melbourne Victory, Crystal Palace, Aston Villa and Wrexham, with the latest fixture being played behind closed doors at Carrington.

There have been many encouraging signs so far during pre-season such as the form of Anthony Martial, Jadon Sancho and Fred, with all three players looking set to play a crucial role under the Dutchman this coming season.
Erik ten Hag is set to play his first competitive match at Old Trafford on 7 August as Manchester United take on Brighton & Hove Albion on the opening weekend of the Premier League season.
