Manchester United's four game winning streak has ended following a 1-0 defeat to Real Sociedad in their opening Europa League game.
The fixture was in doubt after the announcement of the passing of Queen Elizabeth II earlier in the evening, but it went ahead with the players wearing black armbands in respect and the stadium having a moment of silence before kick-off.
A further announcement from the English Football League is expected on Friday morning, where it is looking increasingly likely that United's game against Crystal Palace this weekend, alongside other Premier League fixtures, will be postponed.

It this match, however, Erik ten Hag's were beaten after a controversial penalty decision.
Here is how the players faired in the match:
David de Gea - 6/10
Was not involved much and had time to pass out the back. Couldn't save the well-placed penalty.

Diogo Dalot - 7/10
Another solid showing from the Portuguese. Impressive in possession and unfortunate to not register an assist after a brilliant cross to Ronaldo, who scored a header that was marginally offside.
Harry Maguire - 6/10
The captain came back into the line-up and didn't do anything wrong, but wasn't impressive. A standard performance.

Victor Lindelöf - 6/10
A decent showing in the first half as a centre-back and offered more than expected when moved to right-back.
Tyrell Malacia - 7/10
One of United's more impressive players across the game. Energetic and offered some good progression.

Casemiro - 5.5/10
A shaky performance in possession from United's new midfielder. Went close to scoring twice with a bouncing header and a long range effort.
Fred - 5/10
Very poor from Fred. Just days after looking promising from the bench, and he looked erratic for the most part.

Christian Eriksen - 7.5/10
A very classy performance from the Dane. He was great in possession and played Elanga through on the left wing with a perfectly timed through ball. Subbed at half-time to keep his fitness after playing 90 minutes against Arsenal on the weekend.
Antony - 6/10
Another appearance for the new winger as he continues to try and find his feet at Old Trafford. Was not involved much and didn't make much impact from the right.
Cristiano Ronaldo - 4.5/10
Despite scoring an offside goal in the first half, Ronaldo offered almost nothing for United. Anonymous in the second half before he hit a free-kick into the wall minutes before the end of the game.
Anthony Elanga - 5/10
Looked okay in moments but was too scared to face his man. When he did, he beat him a couple of times, but not enough.
Substitutes:
Lisandro Martinez - 7/10
Absolutely incredible play to stop a certain goal from a cross and then another great block, which somehow was given as a penalty as it hit his arm after coming off his torso. Another recent example of VAR seeming to be useless. Very good in possession afterwards as United searched for an equaliser.
Bruno Fernandes - 6/10
United's no.8 started his second half cameo well but as the game went on, his influence decreased.
Alejandro Garnacho - N/A
Jadon Sancho - N/A
Charlie McNeill - N/A
