Despite it looking like he could leave the club earlier this summer, Aaron Wan-Bissaka will look to fight for his place at Old Trafford next season as he is set to stay.
Signed by Manchester United for £50 million in 2019, Wan-Bissaka had a very promising first season in Manchester.
But since then he has failed to evolve with the side as they’ve looked to become more expansive, his limitations in possession becoming more and more exposed.

His positional awareness has also been exposed as a weakness, and last season he lost his place to Diogo Dalot, who beats him in these key aspects.
In Erik ten Hag’s high-pressing, possession-based system it felt as though AWB was just not going to fit, and as a result he was free to leave the club.
But now it has been confirmed that he will remain at the club, and the player will surely look to work on his weaknesses and fight for his place now.

Erik ten Hag’s words on the matter were “I think Aaron [Wan-Bissaka] has shown in the past that he's a really constant factor in United so I have all the choice in that.”
He also admits he has not seen the full back in action enough, “I haven't seen him that much because over a period he was injured in pre-season, so I didn't have the chance to see him.”
But he emphasised the need for competition, “What I noticed from the past is that he's a good option. The last couple of weeks he’s training, so now we have to compete for the right full-back position, clear.”

According to Talksport, United rejected a late approach from West Ham for Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Erik ten Hag decided to keep the player.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka does have some useful qualities, he excels at counterpressing which would be of great use to the side when they lose possession.
His physical qualities in general are very strong, and could he be taught to use them better he could provide Diogo Dalot with suitable competition.

New signing Antony is reliant on a full back who can consistently over and underlap him, right now Dalot is more suited to this than the Englishman.
Dalot is also more technically secure and a better ball progressor than Wan-Bissaka is, although Antony’s independence when holding width on the right could give Wan-Bissaka a shot.
Manchester United play Leicester City in the Premier League on Thursday night, before hosting Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.

It is possible that Wan-Bissaka makes an appearance in one of these games given United’s busy schedule, if not in these two then likely in the Europa League.
