Since the arrival of Erik ten Hag at Manchester United, many have assumed goalkeeper David de Gea’s days are numbered as first choice goalkeeper at the club.
The new season is De Gea’s 11th at United, with the Spaniard switching to Old Trafford in 2011 from boyhood club Atletico Madrid.
The Reds have been linked with a number of goalkeepers in recent weeks, with Ten Hag reportedly keen to add a shot stopper who could challenge De Gea.

Borussia Monchengladbach’s Yann Sommer and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Kevin Trapp have both been outed as targets, but it seems as though De Gea’s potential competition is closer to home than Germany.
According to the Athletic, United have made a loan offer for Newcastle United goalkeeper Martin Dubravka.
United are yet to reach an agreement with Newcastle for the 33-year-old.
A move could well be on the cards, with Dubravka being replaced as the Magpies’ number one this summer.

Former Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope moved to St James’ Park for a fee of £10 million.
Dubravka missed Newcastle’s win over Tranmere Rovers on Wednesday in the Carabao Cup, with the omission put down to illness.
It had also been reported that United had been unwilling to match Frankfurt’s €25 million valuation for Trapp, hence the move for Dubravka.
The Slovakia international signed for Newcastle on a permanent deal in 2018 after having already spent six months at the club on loan from Czech side Sparta Prague.

Dubravka’s debut for the Toon came in that same season, ironically against Manchester United, where he kept a clean sheet in that match, guiding Newcastle to a 1-0 victory.
Dubravka has played 127 times for his current club.
United’s only other senior goalkeeping option is 36-year-old Tom Heaton.

Youngsters Nathan Bishop and Matej Kovar are expected to leave the club in the remainder of the window on loan.
One United keeper who is already out on loan is Dean Henderson.
The 25-year-old is spending the 2022/23 season at newly promoted Nottingham Forest, where he has kept one clean sheet in three games.
Henderson also saved a penalty taken by West Ham United’s Declan Rice in Forest’s 1-0 win over the Hammers in their first home game since returning to the topflight.

In Steve Copper’s side's trip to Everton last weekend, Henderson was voted the Premier League man of the match.
