Dutch left-back Tyrell Malacia has taken to social media to show his work in the gym during pre-season ahead of his imminent transfer to Manchester United.
With his move to Manchester United soon to be sealed, Malacia has demonstrated to fans a work ethic and hunger to improve himself that has been desperately lacking from Old Trafford over the past few seasons.
Malacia first took to Instagram, where he posted a quick compilation of what looked to be a gruelling gym session.

He then uploaded an image to his Instagram story in which he revealed his newly activated Twitter account, where the same video was uploaded, accompanied by the caption, “Putting in some work.”
Malacia’s Twitter account is currently sitting at over 45 thousand followers, an extremely healthy amount considering the limited amount of time the account has been active for.
This number will increase drastically as the Dutchman raises his profile playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world in a number of competitions.

The sessions itself had an apparent focus on plyometric exercises, with these exercises designed to train explosive moments.
Athletes utilise plyometric training the most aside from training their actual sport, with this type of training highly beneficial for improving sprinting, jumping and in the case of footballers, kicking.
Malacia’s reputation for pace and physicality will have been crafted through the demonstration of plyometric type movements in matches, with sprinting and slide tackles the most abundant of these movements.

It will be hoped by fans and coaches alike, that the left-back will carry this reputation through to Old Trafford with him, with a desperate need for a will to fight at the club.
Erik ten Hag is reported to be a huge fan of Malacia and allegedly attempted to sign him for Ajax in his final year as Manager for the Dutch champions.
The deal to sign Malacia from Feyenoord is reported to be done according to popular Twitter journalist Fabrizio Romano, with reports suggesting that he could be revealed as early as Monday by the club.
The Dutchman is flying to the UK on Sunday to complete his medical ahead of paperwork being signed.
United’s left back options will be overwhelming with the arrival of Malacia, with rumours now suggesting that Alex Telles and Brandon Williams will both be on their way out of the club.

In addition to Malacia’s expected arrival is the expected arrival of Barcelona midfielder, Frenkie de Jong, with De Jong being one of Erik ten Hag’s star Ajax players during the 18/19 season.
There are also reports that a bid of roughly £50m has been made by United for Ajax centre back Lisandro Martinez, with Ajax adamant to hold on to the player.
While there is much uncertainty surrounding the potential signing of Martinez, there is a certainty in the work ethic displayed by Tyrell Malacia ahead of his transfer to United, with any other potential signings having their work cut out to display a similar level of commitment to their performance on the pitch.
