Manchester United are all set to offload as many as six more defenders in this summer’s transfer window in order to reduce their wage bill.
The Red Devils still have a bloated squad, especially players in their defence who seem to have come to the end of their journey at Old Trafford.
United have done some impressive business already this summer with the likes of Christian Eriksen, Tyrel Malacia and Lisandro Martinez coming in to form part of Erik ten Hag’s squad.

They have managed to sell midfielder Andreas Pereira to Fulham for £10 million and have secured a loan move for right-back Ethan Laird, who has made the move to Watford.
There is no doubt there will be more players who will be leaving the club in the coming weeks.
In terms of permanent sales, The Telegraph’s James Ducker states that United are looking to part ways with six other players namely, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Alex Telles, Eric Bailly, Phil Jones, Axel Tuanzebe and Brandon Williams.

Alex Telles is already being courted by Sevilla and talks over a permanent deal and Fabrizio Romano has already informed that a deal is now close.
He said, “Sevilla are closing on Alex Telles deal with Manchester United. The player has accepted the destination and the agreement is set to be completed. It's a matter of final details discussed between clubs. Work in progress.”
Telles has managed to feature in just 50 matches for Manchester United since he arrived in 2020, contributing one goal and providing eight assists.

He spent much of his time on the bench with the resurgence of Luke Shaw in the last one and a half seasons.
Telles is said to be looking for regular first team football, something he will definitely not get with the arrival of Ten Hag’s new signing in the same position, Tyrel Malacia.
Wan-Bissaka and Axel Tuanzebe are being courted by fellow Premier League sides Crystal Palace as well as newly promoted Bournemouth.
Phil Jones is said to be reuniting with his former teammate Wayne Rooney at DC United.
Meanwhile, Eric Bailly has garnered interest from Sevilla, AS Roma, AC Milan and Fulham. The Ivory Coast international has decided he wants to move away from United in order to attain first team football.

Brandon Williams has been subject to interest from Brighton, who see him as a viable replacement for Marc Cucurella, who is close to joining Chelsea this summer.
It was recently reported that the Seagulls would be willing to pay as much as £15m for Williams and Manchester United would be keen to accept such an offer.
