Much has been said about Casemiro since his move from Real Madrid to Manchester United late in the window.
It seemed as though United boss Erik ten Hag much rather favoured a move for Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong, with Frenchman Adrien Rabiot coming into the picture after De Jong’s move to Old Trafford was all but off.
However, according to Jason Burt of the Daily Telegraph, Casemiro was wanted by Ten Hag once the former Ajax manager was made aware he was willing to leave the Spanish giants.
The Brazil international completed a deal on the eve of United’s first Premier League win against Liverpool, with United paying Real a fee of around £60m.

Since signing for United, Casemiro has failed to start a single Premier League game.
He was also left out of the starting line-up in last Sunday’s Manchester derby defeat, only coming on as a substitute on the hour mark.
Though Scott McTominay has enjoyed a good run of games against Liverpool, Southampton, Leicester City and Arsenal, Burt also reported that Casemiro is in line for his first league start for United on Sunday.

The Reds travel to Goodison Park to face Frank Lampard’s Everton, who are unbeaten in their last seven outings in all competitions.
Before that though, it’s a trip to Cyprus, where United face Omonia Nicosia in the Europa League.
Ten Hag’s side currently sit second in Group E, with Real Sociedad top after winning both of their opening two fixtures.
