Charlie Savage is attracting interest from both Championship and League One sides after Manchester United’s pre-season, according to reports.
Charlie Savage, son of ex-footballer turned pundit Robbie Savage, has impressed many clubs while on pre-season tour with Manchester United.
The young midfielder, who currently wears No.72 at the Old Trafford club, played on a few occasions under Erik ten Hag as the Dutch manager made good use of the younger players on tour when the more senior ones needed to rest.

Savage made his Manchester United debut back in December 2021, when he was substituted on for Juan Mata in the 89th minute against Young Boys in their Champions League group stage fixture by Ralf Rangnick.
He was substituted on alongside life-long friends and fellow academy player Zidane Iqbal, who himself looks set to have a very important season under Erik ten Hag as the next crop of young players looks to break through into the first team.
After making his debut, Savage did not go on to make any more appearances for Manchester United’s first team, but became much more involved in the side’s first team training.

Savage clearly impressed Erik ten Hag in the opening weeks of pre-season, as he was flown out with the rest of the squad to play four games in Bangkok and Thailand, against Liverpool, Melbourne Victory, Crystal Palace and Aston Villa.
It has now been reported that a ‘group’ of clubs in both the Championship and League One are keen to take on the midfielder on a season long loan, with Sami Mokbel of the Daily Mail saying said group are ‘monitoring the situation’.
Savage played against both Melbourne Victory and Liverpool as a substitute, and with opportunities at Manchester United certainly limited for him during the 2022/23 season, a loan move could be a brilliant way of gaining much needed experience.

Much like how James Garner racked up an incredible number of minutes for Nottingham Forest in the Championship over the last 18 months, Savage will need as much playing experience as he can in the first XI of a team, regardless of the professional level.
Erik ten Hag has been speaking about the opportunities that youth level players will get throughout the season, and what they need to do to earn them.
“Some guys took the field for the first time for the first team and you could see their intention to work together as a team,” Ten Hag said after United’s 1-1 draw against Rayo Vallecano.

“We created a lot of chances and yes, we did concede some chances.”
Ten Hag then reserved praise for Alejandro Garnacho and said, “All young players who deserve a chance, we will give a chance and Garnacho is one of those players.”
Manchester United take on Brighton & Hove Albion during the opening weekend of the Premier League season on Sunday 7 August.
