After almost a month of speculation, Manchester United's pursuit of Lisandro Martinez is finally over.
That's according to Fabrizio Romano, who has confirmed that the two clubs have agreed a fee for the defender and that personal terms are agreed.
As previously reported by the famed Italian journalist, personal terms between the two clubs are not an issue as the player wanted the move.

In fact, it was reported that the player was ready to quit training should the two clubs not come to an agreement soon.
With Christian Eriksen also set to become a Manchester United player at some point this week, he and Martinez are set to become the second and third signings under Erik ten Hag.
The Premier League side have agreed with Ajax to a fee of around £46 million including bonuses, and beat Arsenal to the signing of the player.
Reports from the Netherlands have claimed that the player personally rejected Arsenal in favour of a move to the Manchester club, with Ten Hag using his personal connection with the player to engineer the move.

The two clubs had a long and positive meeting on Wednesday, as United executives travelled to Amsterdam themselves in order to have face to face discussions with the Ajax board members.
It has been said that ex-Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar had a significant role to play in negotiations, and it was when he stepped in that conversations between the two clubs were able to move forward in a productive manner.
With the deal being reported as “imminent” last night, many fans took to twitter to express their delight.

With Lisandro Martinez and Christian Eriksen both being expected to sign this week, the club are also hoping that a deal for Frenkie de Jong can be finalised by Friday too.
The aforementioned Manchester United executive pair spent two days in Barcelona’s city offices negotiating a deal with the club, and left the city “convinced” that Frenkie de Jong will move to the club, despite reports from Spain detailing the contrary.
The two clubs reportedly agreed a total fee of €85 million to be paid including bonuses, which will presumably include United helping pay for part of the £17 million in wages that Barcelona currently owe De Jong.
With the club only confirming the signing of Tyrell Malacia so far, the arrivals of Lisandro Martinez, Christian Eriksen and Frenkie de Jong, should all three transfers conclude, will bring a smile on many United fans' faces.

This will also mean the club have secured three of Erik ten Hag’s primary targets, and with the club aiming to complete five signings before the start of Manchester United’s Premier League season on 7 August, this allows Ten Hag to focus on attacking reinforcement.
Signing a forward could become even more crucial if striker Cristiano Ronaldo leaves the club.
