Having played 32 games in the Eredivisie last season with a total of 136 games in the competition, at 22 years old Malacia has certainly gathered the required experience needed, with the young defender playing a crucial role for Feyenoord.
Although he has made his way through the academy joining the first team in 2017, Malacia has been vocal about his belief in taking the next step into his career.

When speaking about his future in an interview with RTV the Dutch defender said, “I'm certainly ready for the next steps.
"I feel like everything happens for a reason and everything is written. If it's the right time, it's the right time.”
Malacia then left the doors open on a potential transfer saying: "I'm not really thinking about it, it's in the back of my mind.

Malacia certainly leaves the doors wide open for a potential transfer this window with his recent comments as the interest in the young defender heats up.
As reported by Simon Mullock of The Mirror, it is believed that Erik Ten Hag wants top-class competition for Luke Shaw which is why he sees Tyrell Malacia as a potential option this summer.

With the latest news from Fabrizio Romano who reports that Lyon has an agreement in place with Feyenoord for a fee of €15m for Tyrell Malacia, it is unknown whether Manchester United will enter the race for the young defender by submitting a bid themselves.
Whether it is in Manchester United’s interest to chase the 22-year-old for his signature or not, the young fullback is at a bargain price in the transfer market.
