Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson is due to have his medical this week in order to finalise his season-long loan with Nottingham Forest.
According to a report from Tom Collomosse of the Daily Mail, Henderson will seal his loan move to the City Ground shortly after he returns from his honeymoon.
It seems that the Englishman can wait no longer and deems himself surplus to requirements at Old Trafford while David de Gea is in net.

This may, in turn, lead to Manchester United signing a backup goalkeeper.
It also quells reports in terms of fans who some were led to believe that Henderson would be more of a first choice option with Ten Hag coming in.
With the goalkeeper being allowed to move on loan to newly promoted Nottingham Forest, it seems Ten Hag approves and is firmly backing David De Gea who came into some criticism for his all-round game, despite being a magnificent shot stopper.

Henderson is also aware that there will be a World Cup very shortly.
He likely still harbours hope that a good season with a team fighting to stay in the Premier League, outside of the Old Trafford spotlight, can play in his favour.
The move certainly is reminiscent of his move to Sheffield United which increased his reputation.
With it being another loan deal, solid performances could see Henderson repeat his heroics at Sheffield United, where he was one of the standout players for The Blades, earning praise from the majority of Manchester United fans watching on.

With it being Ten Hag’s first year, there is the option that if De Gea isn’t able to adjust to the Dutchman’s methods or isn’t what he wants, a hungry Henderson could be called back in.
The goalkeeper made his England debut off the back of a good spell of games with United after De Gea sustained an injury in a 3-2 win vs Southampton.
As luck would have it however, struggles with Covid-19 and then a hip injury, which led to him being sent home for the delayed Euro 2020 tournament, meant it has been tough luck for the 25-year-old who seemed to have all the makings of being the heir to David de Gea's throne.

Forest’s current number one Brice Samba who displayed heroics in a penalty shootout play off semi-final to get Forest into the Premier League has also reportedly been said to be open to leaving the club.
If this materialises then Henderson would be the undisputed number one at the club next season.
Nottingham Forest seem to be replicating some of the business they conducted last season in getting promoted, where loan players are forming a crucial part of their team.
For instance James Garner another United player who was similarly on loan last year at Nottingham Forest played 41 times in the league for Forest last season, he has returned to United with some great experience.

Henderson can be seen to have been dealt with some bad luck as he was pushing De Gea for his place in the back-end of 2020/21 season, but his lack of game-time and willingness to move clearly portrays that he has ran out of patience and wants to prove himself again.
