Cristiano Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes met with new Chelsea owner Todd Boehly last week, amidst doubt over his Manchester United future.
The forward has been said to be disappointed with the lack of recruitment at the club in the summer transfer window so far.
According to the ever-reliable David Ornstein, Boehly held a meeting in Portugal last week with Ronaldo's 'super agent'.

The conversations included the subject of bringing Ronaldo to United's Premier League rivals this summer.
It is unclear whether Chelsea would want to peruse this opportunity at this stage.
The Blues are set to let former Red Romelu Lukaku depart to Inter Milan on loan following a torrid campaign at Stamford Bridge following his £97.5 million move from Inter Milan.

Ornstein's report also adds that the 37-year-old legend wants United to be competitive at the highest level and is keen for the club to strengthen the depleted squad.
United finished sixth last season in the Premier League, with their lowest points total since it's introduction in 1992.
Ronaldo was the club's top goalscorer with 23 goals, winning the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award as well. He also made the Premier League Team of the Season.
The idea of missing out on Champions League football could very well be a large contributing factor to the player who is the top goalscorer in the competition's history.

The aforementioned report also addresses the fact that Ronaldo's agent, Mendes, has had similar discussions with Bayern Munich.
The German club are likely going to be losing their own star striker this summer in the form of Robert Lewandowski, who is reportedly wanted by Barcelona.
Manchester United need to bolster their attack, not sell their top goalscorer.
However, the reports also mentions that as things stand, the Reds intend to keep Ronaldo at the club this summer.

United are hoping that they can get a deal for Barcelona's Frenkie de Jong over the line soon.
It is yet another deal that has taken too long to complete, and if United miss out on the midfielder it could be to a detrimental effect.
The 25-year-old has been widely reported as Erik ten Hag's primary target.

The pair worked together at Ajax and the Dutch manager wants to build the United side around him next season.
