Following news that Ajax will not accept Manchester United's latest bid for the player, Lisandro Martinez is doing "as much as he can" to leave the Eredivisie club this summer.
That's according to Gaston Edul, Argentinian football journalist, who reported the story in the early hours on Saturday morning.
He added that the player does not want his dream of playing in the Premier League destroyed.
Arsenal also had interest in the player, but he chose United ahead of the Gunners with offers from both on the table.

It seemed all but certain that United's latest bid would be enough to agree a deal with the Amsterdam club.
Erik ten Hag's side launched a €50 million bid, which included add-ons, for the player, originally reported on Thursday evening.
It was then added that the potential add-ons in the proposed deal were "easily attainable".
The club had already discussed personal terms with the Argentina international, and his wages at Old Trafford could triple his current salary.

United were confident of Ajax accepting the proposal, and wanted to turn focus to a new priority position.
However, after discussing the offer on Friday, the Ajax team seem to be saying that a departure is out of the question for their defender.
Dutch journalist Mike Verweij, who broke the news of the bid first, said that Ajax's stance remains; even for United's current €50m bid and that Ten Hag's club would have to go higher if they want the player.

Yet, the English club might not need to do so, with Martinez's actions clear that he wants his move to the greatest league in the world.
After initially pushing for the move earlier in the week, the player is now doing "as much as he can" to open up his Ajax departure. The Netherlands club want as much money as possible for their prized asset.
Martinez is Ten Hag's first choice defensive asset currently.
The club were originally interested in Villarreal's Pau Torres, but let Ten Hag take charge with the potential addition of his former defender.

Eventually, if the deal crosses the line, it would show a certain trust in the manager that has rarely been present at United in recent years.
Both Harry Maguire and Raphael Varane will see warning lights if Martinez enters the building.
The former had a torrid season last term, while the latter's injury concerns could leave him out of contention at times.

Adding another defender to the ranks will force the rest of the department to stay on their toes as they look to impress Ten Hag in the beginning of his tenure.
Martinez has also been touted as a potential stop gap in defensive midfield, and there are different systems which could work with the Argentinian in the engine room.
