Erik ten Hag has labelled new signing Lisandro Martinez as a "warrior" after detailing the profile of Manchester United's new signing.
After showing his happiness at the signing of Christian Eriksen, the United manager has spoken on the Argentine defender.
Martinez was Ten Hag's player of the year at Ajax last term, and the Dutchman is delighted to bring him to Old Trafford.

“He’s a warrior and I think the fans will admire him. He has an attitude, fighting spirit,” Ten Hag explained when speaking to club media.
This is no surprise for the man that has been nicknamed 'the butcher of Amsterdam' and it will surely be an advantage for the group at Carrington to work alongside someone with such an aggressive nature.
However, he is not a hot-head, and Ten Hag details the on-ball skills which Martinez brings to the table, which have been suggested as a large reason why the Dutchman is bringing him to the club.

“He brings aggressiveness in the game, in a good way. I think we need that.
“But also, he’s also skilful and he can deal with the ball and he’s left-footed.”
With Martinez being excellent in build-up, Ten Hag will hope to be able to instil possession-based football into the team at the Theatre of Dreams.
Whilst one concern some have is with the lack of height for the defender.

Yet, statistics shown that he was the best player in the Eredivisie in regard to aerial duel win percentage last term.
The United manager continued to praise Martinez's intensity, which will be a help in England's top flight.
“I think it’s important, yeah. I think the Premier League is high intensity, lots of challenges. We need such players [with fighting spirit],"

He also highlighted the positives of bringing someone who knows his style.
The pair have worked together for two seasons in the Netherlands, and Martinez has been a key member of two title winning teams under Ten Hag.
But, the manager did add that while the defender knows his style from the Eredivisie, there will be changes with a new team and league, as well as an adjustment period for the 24-year-old.

“Certain ideas, he knows them. That is an advantage, clearly," Ten Hag said.
“But also he has to adapt, to a new country, a new club, new team-mates. So also a lot of things will be different.”
Alongside Christian Eriksen, Ten Hag has confirmed that Martinez will not join up with the squad for the rest of United's pre-season tour.
