Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes told reporters on Thursday that he expects Cristiano Ronaldo to stay at Old Trafford.
The Manchester United midfielder commented, via Record, on how he expects to see countryman Ronaldo alongside him in a United shirt again next season.
Fernandes remarked at an event on Thursday that when he starts pre-season training with the club next Monday, he believes Ronaldo will be there also:

“We’re both on vacation, no one bothers friends on vacation - I hope on the 4th [July] to meet him to train there [at Manchester United], I’m not expecting more than that,”
It should also be noted that the Manchester United talisman admitted that each player has to decide their own future, though in the case of Ronaldo, he could not see United parting with their star striker.

“As far as I know, there is nothing more than that, but everyone takes care of their future.” Fernandes told reporters. “[But] I don't believe that the club is willing to lose a value like Cristiano.”
Ronaldo has been the subject of a great deal of transfer speculation of late.
According to reports, his agent Jorge Mendes has offered the forward to both Bundesliga winners Bayern Munich, and Manchester United’s Premier League rivals Chelsea.

However, since word of those proposals that Mendes made broke, United have reportedly told both Mendes and Ronaldo that the striker will not be sold this summer.
With regards to Fernandes, the midfielder would again admit that last season was not good enough, and that the team now have to improve under new manager Erik ten Hag.
"I'm preparing for what's coming; Monday I'll start. The goal in a club like this is to do better than in previous years. We had a change in the club and we have to hope that we do better.”
Continuing his conversation with the reporters, Fernandes revealed that he believes the club should aim to win all four competitions they are entered in this season.

“The goal has to be to win all the competitions in which we are included. We haven't won [a competition] in the last few years, but let's try all the competitions.” Said Fernandes, “It's something that starts from scratch now, there's a new project, there's a lot of time for it to flourish.”
If Erik ten Hag is to find a winning team during his time at Manchester United then new additions are a must, something that looks to be happening in the very near future.
Current reports indicate that Manchester United’s long pursuit of Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong has not been in vain, with the transfer looking all but finalised as of the time of writing.
The Catalan club have reportedly accepted that De Jong will be leaving the club, having already produced an in-house goodbye video for the talented midfielder.

Additionally, it appears that Manchester United’s late swoop for Feyenoord defender Tyrell Malacia has been successful, with a deal reportedly agreed in principle.
Following these signings, focus also reportedly remains on the trio of Christian Eriksen, Antony, and Lisandro Martinez.
Additionally, reports emerged early Thursday morning that former Manchester United keeper Sergio Romero would like to re-join the club.
