Antony is said to look like one of two "definite arrivals" at Erik ten Hag's Manchester United this summer alongside Frenkie de Jong, according to reports.
The 22-year-old Brazilian who was instrumental last season for Ajax, under Erik ten Hag’s tutelage, has been linked with Manchester United for the last few months, alongside Jurrien Timber who United are also rumoured to be interested in.
TalkSPORT have reported that Ten Hag is on course to sign two of players, Antony and Frenkie de Jong,

Speaking on the show, Alex Crook claims that there is strong talk about Antony moving to Manchester United and cites that rumours of a bid have not been dismissed from those at the club.
“Antony is someone who Erik ten Hag knows well, there is talk of a £40 million bid,” Crook said on air. “Sources at United haven’t distanced themselves from rumours of a move so [I] think that Antony is a target.
“Another source says if he [Antony] doesn’t become a United player he’d be very surprised. At the moment Antony and Frenkie De Jong look like two definite arrivals at United and two players Ten Hag clearly trusts.”

As mentioned previously, Antony is a 22-year-old Brazilian right winger, with 12 goals and eight assists for Ajax this season, with six of those goal contributions coming in the Champions League.
With reports elsewhere suggesting that a bid of £40 million will go in, United have had to change their plans after their approach for Benfica forward Darwin Nunez looks to be dead in the water, after the striker agreed to a move to United’s arch rivals Liverpool.
Moving for Antony would shift United’s focus from a striker to a right winger, whether this is the correct way to go remains to be seen.
It’s clear due to Jadon Sancho’s proficiency from the left-hand side since joining the club from Borussia Dortmund last summer, means a space is once again open for a right-winger.

Antony who is left footed, could well be the answer for the hole on the right-hand side.
With Anthony Elanga, Marcus Rashford and Sancho seemingly preferring the left side, a new signing in Antony could well be a smart move.
What this would mean for Facundo Pellistri and Amad remains to be seen.

United have previous encounters with Ajax when negotiating for Donny van de Beek in 2020, it was a swift negotiation back then, so we can hope to expect a resolution soon on this transfer.
The addition of a winger could well be an important piece of the puzzle for Ten Hag and a player he trusts and knows all about.
