Nick Kyrgios stuns fans with 'insane' theory about how the Egyptian pyramids were built

Kyrgios' theory caused plenty of reaction on social media.

Tennis star Nick Kyrgios has stunned social media users with his theory about how the Egyptian pyramids were built.

Kyrgios has played just one game of competitive tennis since December 2022, and none since June 2023, having had knee and wrist surgeries.

He has been filling his time as a commentator and analyst at major events, such as Wimbledon, and has confirmed he will be making a return to professional tennis.

In April, he said: "I definitely will be coming back. It's just hard to put an exact date on it because the injury was quite severe."

Kyrgios, who is known for his outspoken and sometimes controversial views, has also been active on social media throughout his recovery time.

He has now appeared on The Louis Theroux Podcast, where he discussed a number of prominent conspiracy theories.

And during one section of the podcast, he made the claim that the Egyptian pyramids were not built by people.

He said: "No, I don't [think they were built by people]. Impossible."

When asked whether a possible method of building involved logs and blocks, Kyrgios replied: "That's insanity. How is that possible, they got every measurement correct and they're all aligned?

"And they did it with rolling large stones on logs is an insane statement.

"Why are the doors so big? Like who needs to walk through the doors if they're that big?

"I don't know who it was. I just don't think that we were capable.

"It's 2024 and we can't even all get along. And you think that we built the pyramids? You're insane. That's insanity stuff."

Social media users were left shocked by the comments, with one writing: "The world's most knowledgeable Egyptian archaeologists would present all the evidence demonstrating humans did build the pyramids and Kyrgios would still believe he is the smartest person in the room."
