World champion Rhiannan Iffland showed no fear as she took on a dangerous water slide built for men only.

Boasting activities such as rafting, bungee jumping and a waterpark Austria’s Area 47 amusement park offers something for everyone to enjoy.

While no other activity discriminates based on gender, there is one water slide in the park, deemed ‘Europe’s fastest waterslide’ which women are not allowed to use.

But this was not enough to deter Rhiannon Iffland, who posted a video on social media of her trying out the slide when visiting the park.

Iffland is a seven-time world champion in cliff diving and therefore is far from afraid of a bit of danger.

As she approached the slide, Iffland excitedly pointed to a sign above which states: "Due to high risk of injury, women are not allowed to use this slide!"

However, the 32-year-old didn’t back down, exclaiming ‘'women aren't supposed to use this' as she gets ready to take on the 50mph slide.

Although she showed slight hesitation moments beforehand, Iffland launched herself down the slide and can be heard screaming as she speeds down the slide.

Sharing the footage on Instagram, Iffland wrote: "Here for a good time not a long time! Another YOLO moment."

While some may be outraged to read that the slide is off limits for woman, it is actually for a good reason.

The decision to ban women from the slide was not motivated by sexism, but rather for the health and safety of visitors.

In water parks across the world there have been some reports of women having their insides 'ripped apart' by high-speed water slides.

This led Area 47 to air on the side of caution with their thrilling attraction and prohibit women from taking the high-speed plunge.

The National Library of Medicine in the US reports that women can suffer severe injuries if high-pressure water enters their bodies, with an additional risk of infections from foreign substances present in the water.

While Iffland arrived at the bottom of the slide safely, not everyone who has tried the slide has been so lucky.

Professional high diver Molly Carlson commented on Iffland’s video, saying: “I got the worst enema on that slide bahhaha you are brave girl.”

This led to Iffland responding to the backlash of her video.

Speaking to news.com.au, the Australian diver said: "It was never my intent to mock the safety regulations of this water slide. A person’s safety is paramount and I am constantly weighing up any danger with my job."
