An underwater swimmer has recreated Raygun’s entire viral Olympic performance.

Earlier this month breakdancing phenomenon Raygun, a 36-year-old university lecturer, lost all three of her Olympic round robin battles in viral fashion.

Her unorthodox routine, which included the sprinkler and kangaroo-inspired hopping, generated a spate of memes and divided fans.

And now the most notable moments from Raygun’s performance have been recreated by underwater swimmer kristimakush95 on TikTok. You can watch it below.

Raygun was at the centre of a social media storm in the wake of her Olympic performance, which culminated in a petition calling for an apology from the dancer receiving more than 54,000 signatures before being taken down.

The petition said Raygun should say sorry for "attempting to gaslight the public and undermining the efforts of genuine athletes".

Change.org subsequently said the petition was “flagged for misinformation” before removing it after review.

In turn, Raygun, real name Rachel Gunn, said in an Instagram video that the backlash from her performance had been “devastating” while admitted she didn't realise her showing would "open the door to so much hate".

She added: "I'd really like to ask the press to please stop harassing my family, my friends, the Australian breaking community and the broader street dance community.

"Everyone has been through a lot as a result of this, so I ask you to please respect their privacy."

Raygun continued: "I really appreciated the positivity and I’m glad I was able to bring some joy into your lives - that’s what I hoped.

"Well, I went out there and I had fun - I did take it very seriously. I worked my butt off preparing for the Olympics and I gave my all. Truly.

"And I’m honoured to have been a part of the Australian Olympic team; to be a part of breaking’s Olympic debut."
