Winning a gold medal at the Olympics is arguably the pinnacle in sport but although it's nice and shiny, what do athletes actually get out of it?
Well, it turns out that plenty of nations are paying out huge bonus sums for those who win gold in Paris.
Forbes conducted research into the prize money for getting gold and 33 countries competing in this year's Olympics confirmed cash prizes will be given out.
Of all the nations who replied, Hong Kong are splashing the most cash - giving out £597,300 for gold and £295,500 for silver.

But it's emerged that there are other benefits for individuals who claim gold.
As per Sky News, Serbia are handing out £169,900 for golds but they also have a rule whereby anyone who gets on the podium become eligible for a national pension at the age of 40.
But it's Poland who have some of the most eye-catching rewards available.
In addition to the £63,000 payment, they get a painting from a Polish artist, a holiday voucher for two and an investment-grade diamond.

Remarkably, those who win gold in an individual sport are gifted a two-bedroom flat in the capital city of Warsaw.
