A decision has reportedly been made on the future of the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles as wildfires continue to burn through parts of the city.
Five separate fires have burned across the LA area this month, with fire crews having been working desperately to contain them.
As of Thursday, as per BBC News, over 12,000 structures had been lost to the wildfires, including the multi-million dollar homes of a number of high-profile people.

On January 11, a man was arrested on suspicion of starting one of the fires that has impacted parts of LA and Ventura counties.
There is also another fire currently burning in southern California, with the state's governor Gavin Newsom announcing a $2.5 billion state-level aid package earlier this week to deal with the damage the wildfires have inflicted.
On a sporting scale, there were concerns around the status of the 2028 Olympics, which are due to be held in Los Angeles.

It was claimed that these concerns were due to the cost of hosting the Olympics - each city has a budget of around $7 billion - against the cost of rebuilding parts of LA, which is reportedly set to total at around $275 billion as things stand.
As a result, broadcasters have held talks with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in the wake of the wildfires.
But according to Scott Young, SVP Content, Productions and Business Operations for the European sports branch of Warner Bros. Discovery, the IOC has stated that the Olympics - which are due to take place in July 2028 - will go ahead as planned as things stand.
He said: "There is no noise or discussion right now that it [the -wildfires and rebuild cost] will have any impact on LA 2028.

"The tragedy of these fires in Los Angeles is the focus right now and nobody is looking too far down the road.
"No infrastructure was significantly impacted, so they are not looking to rebuild anything that was required for the Olympic Games."
Young added: "The priority now is around the people, rebuilding homes and the infrastructure that has been damaged."
