A TV sports presenter has reportedly been arrested on suspicion of raping a child.
The Sun has reported that the TV presenter was arrested at home at 4am earlier this week.
Police raided the property and confiscated electronic devices and documents for examination.
The man was reportedly held in custody for around 18 hours and was questioned by detectives. He was released on bail pending further enquiries.
The allegation is historical and relates to a child who was younger than 10 years old at the time of the incident.
The complainant made the allegation and was interviewed by specialist child abuse investigation officers.
The child was allegedly raped on multiple occasions.
The Sun reported that a neighbour of the man arrested said: "The police turned up very early.
"They took him away and were there for a while carrying out a search. Everyone is shocked at his arrest."
