Russell Wilson and his wife Ciara have been called out by PETA for purchasing a puppy from a breeder instead of buying one from a shelter.
Not only did the animal welfare group label the couple's decision a "mistake", but they also accused Russ and Ciara of "fuelling the homeless-animal crisis".

On Mother's Day, the NFL megastar and popular music artists unveiled the new dog on social media.
They decided to name the cute pup 'Bronco', a clear nod to the NFL quarterback’s recent trade to Denver.

The majority of people on social media were happy for the couple and their new addition to the family, although not everyone was best pleased.
According to TMZ, animal rights organisation PETA took aim at the duo, even using some Ciara song references to call them out.

It's understood PETA also believes that the dog potentially came from a breeder where “mother dogs are often locked inside filthy cages and bred over and over until their bodies give out”.
