Stephen A. Smith named the 'top five reasons' why Michael Jordan is STILL the NBA GOAT in a passionate rant.

The NBA GOAT debate rages on about whether Jordan is the best ever basketball player.

Some fans and critics favour the body of work from the likes of LeBron James and the late Kobe Bryant.

But Stephen A. is convinced 'MJ' is the best to do it on the court as he revealed his reasons as to why he's the NBA GOAT.

On ESPN"s 'First Take', he gave Shannon Sharpe not one but FIVE reasons why Jordan reigns above James and Bryant, among others.

Speaking after James' 2024 NBA Playoffs elimination with Los Angeles Lakers to Denver Nuggets, he laid out his reasons.

Stephen A. presented Shannon with five reasons for believing that Jordan is the best player ever.

He began with his brand still being alive and well years on from his playing days before highlighting his killer instinct.

The American TV personality then referenced Jordan conquering his nemeses' and his staying power with Chicago Bulls, where he won six NBA championships.

And, finally, he praised the legend's unbeaten NBA Finals record (6-0) while also referencing his six NBA Finals MVP awards.

Jordan himself was asked about the NBA GOAT debate as he had a perfect answer to basketball's age-old question.

He said: "People always debated whose the greatest player of all time?

"Dumb question. It should be whose the greatest team of all time.

"You know, there are so many teams to choose from.

"The '91 Chicago Bulls. The '92 Bulls, back to back. The 93' Bulls, first three-peat.

"The '97 Bulls, even with the flu. The '98 Bulls, no push off.

"And my favourite, the '96 Chicago Bulls, 72 wins, tough to beat that.

"You think there's someone else? Prove it."
