Michael Jordan mansion, which was once listed for $29million (£22million), has sold a decade after it was listed for a cut of that price.

The six-time NBA champion’s Highland Estate, situated in a northern Chicago suburb, most recently listed at $14.8 million (£11.73million), has been sold according to listing agent Katherine Malkin of Compass Realty via NBC Chicago.

As per the listing, which closed on December 10, the final price was just $9.5million (£7.53million).

Jordan's 32,000 square-foot mansion has been on and off the market for the last 12 years and was originally listed at $29million.

It then had it’s price plateaued at $14.8million from the beginning in 2015.

The listing read: "NBA Superstar Michael Jordan's seven-acre estate is as legendary as His Airness himself.

"The 56,000 square foot property, equipped with every conceivable luxury amenity, is a physical monument to his tireless dedication and hard work.

“The custom-designed property includes a regulation-sized basketball gymnasium, circular infinity pool, putting green, tennis court, and cigar room, each with Jordan's signature touch."

The estate has nine bedrooms and 19 bathrooms, while it costs $148,000 (£117,000) annually in tax.

Jordan first bought the land in 1991, while he was still playing with the Chicago Bulls, and he moved into the home in 1994.

It’s not the only property Jordan has sold in the past few years. In 2023, the NBA icon sold his luxury Chicago condo for $6.82million (£5.4million).

The home combined three units over the property’s 39th and 40th floors.

The same year, Jordan agreed to sell his majority stake in the Charlotte Hornets to a group led by Gabe Plotkin and Rick Schnall for approximately $3billion (£2.38billion). The sale ended his 13-year run as majority owner in the NBA.
